This article provides definitions of the concept of "social state", which has been introduced as a new principle in the revised Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It analyzes social and political reforms aimed at building a social state, as well as issues related to the development of the people, improvement of healthy lifestyles, and aspects of their development, examined from both scientific and practical perspectives.
