The article discusses the theoretical foundations of the concept of innovation, which is currently one of the current topics, and the main direction of research is the concept of innovative economics. In addition, the opinions of scientists involved in the study of this area are presented. The possibilities for implementing innovations in order to increase the investment attractiveness of the country's regions are highlighted, and priority directions and strategies for their implementation are identified. During the study, selected countries were analyzed using the readiness index for highly innovative technologies, calculated based on the UNCTAD methodology. Based on the results of the study, general conclusions were drawn on the topic under consideration.
