The right to privacy is a fundamental right recognized in many international and national laws and documents. This right is recognized as fundamental for every person and protects his privacy, intimacy, personal dignity, and freedom. This article examines the essence of the right to privacy, its legal nature, as well as the impact of information technology on this right. The article defines the right to privacy as the right of a person to preserve his sphere, including his thoughts, feelings, communication, and physical integrity. This right protects against unlawful interference by the state, society, or others. The right to privacy is enshrined in many international documents, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. It is also protected in the constitutions and laws of many countries. The article concludes that the legal basis of the right to privacy implies that every person has the right to the inviolability of his sphere and freedom from arbitrary interference.
