In the Bukhara State Medical Institute, the subject of microbiology of the Oral Cavity (MOC) is taught to 2nd year students of the direction "Dentistry" of the international foreign faculty under a joint training program (JTP) with medical universities in Russia. A total of 144 hours were allocated for the development of the MPR subject. MPR is taught by giving lecture courses on general and particular microbiology, as well as MPR and conducting practical classes. In lectures, material is presented on the main topics and sections of the subject, the latest achievements and trends in the development of microbiology, virology and immunology. In the training of a dentist, microbiology is very important, and it is focused on the training of dentists in accordance with qualification characteristics. To cover the material, we use presentation materials and multimedia tools, which greatly facilitates the students' assimilation of the material. At practical classes in microbiology of the oral cavity, we introduce students to the microflora of the oral cavity, its composition and characteristics (microflora of dental plaque, saliva, gum pockets), methods of microbiological study of the microflora of the oral cavity, purulent–inflammatory processes of the oral cavity, caused by conditionally pathogenic gram–positive and Gram–negative microorganisms. Theoretical training and practical skills acquired by students of the Faculty of Dentistry in the course of education are focused on the ultimate goal of training a dentist in accordance with the qualification characteristics.
