The article analyzes existing methods for determining soil pressure on an underground structure. Three options for determining soil pressure on an underground structure are considered. The first is the method of calculating multilayer structures according to N.S. Bulychev, where a multilayer elastic ring is considered, the outer layer of which models a rock mass, and the inner layer an underground structure. The second is the method of G.N. Savin “Distribution of stresses near holes” where soil pressure is determined as follows. Assuming that a circular hole of radius R is made in an unbounded elastic isotropic plane and an elastic ring made of another isotropic material is inserted into this hole, the components of stresses and displacements in the ring and the plane are determined. Two options for inserting a ring are considered: 1 - the inserted ring is soldered to the surrounding material, 2 - the ring is simply inserted into the hole and is not soldered. The third is the method of prof. M. M. Protodyakonov, which takes into account the arch of natural equilibrium, the height of which determines the soil pressure on the surface of the structure.
