The article studies the legal protection of family relations as an independent legal institution. Systemic-structural, formal-legal,comparative-legal and statistical methods are applied to the Constitution and the Family Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan,international instruments, works of Uzbek and foreign scholars, and marriage and divorce statistics for 2024–2026. An author'sdefinition of the legal protection of family relations is proposed, and the features of its legal nature, its principles and mechanismsare revealed.
