This article examines the role of the probation service in the social reintegration of individuals who have committed criminal offenses, with particular attention to the relationship between supervision and practical support. The study aims to compare legal requirements with publicly reported practices and to identify priorities for improvement. Content and comparative analyses were conducted using two laws, two scholarly works, one international recommendation, and five official reports. The analysis identified individualized support, employment assistance, and staff training as key areas of probation activity. However, the official reports provided insufficient information to assess the long-term outcomes of the assistance provided. The article proposes a structured process comprising needs assessment, agreement on specific tasks, referral to relevant services, outcome monitoring, and program adjustment. Indicators related to service uptake and employment retention are also proposed for assessing implementation and outcomes. The practical effectiveness of the proposed measures requires further empirical evaluation.
