Annotatsiya

The article examines the potential of using literary texts to develop students’ communicative competence in Russian language lessons. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to enhance schoolchildren’s speech activity, as well as their ability to perceive, interpret, and produce their own utterances in accordance with a specific communicative task. A literary text is regarded not only as a source of linguistic material but also as a multifunctional didactic unit that supports the integrated development of reading, speaking, and writing skills. Particular attention is paid to text-centered and communicative-activity-based approaches, as well as to the systematic and step-by-step organization of work with literary texts.
