We were able to assess the degree of association of the studied risk factors with COPD in the HIV-infected population and measure their contribution to the development of these diseases against the background of HIV infection. The presence of 16 risk factors (non-lipid modifiable risk factors - 8, biochemical modifiable risk factors - 7 and multiple risk factors) - and 10 associated pathological conditions (glomerulopathies, respiratory tract infections, pulmonary tuberculosis, cardiovascular diseases, sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis B and C , allergic diseases, endocrine disorders, syphilis and lung tumors), regardless of whether they developed primarily or secondary, contribute to the development of COPD and aggravate their course against the background of HIV infection.
