Relevance. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the main causes of incurable blindness and visual disability among adults. A number of scientific studies are conducted for the purpose of effective prevention and treatment of DR, however, issues related to methods of preventing the occurrence of DR in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus and the progression of DR have not been sufficiently studied. Purpose of the study. To study the effectiveness of drug prevention of the occurrence of DR and the progression of DR among patients with type 2 diabetes. Material and methods. A total of 168 patients (n=336 eyes) with type 2 diabetes were examined, who were divided into 2 groups depending on the drug treatment: Group 1A: 81 patients (n=162 eyes) without diabetic retinopathy and Group 2B - 87 patients (n=174 eyes) with mild and moderate NPDR. Results and conclusion. As a result of the conducted studies, negative dynamics of blood flow density in the lower hemisphere, Vsist of blood flow in the PSCA, BDNF and VEGF parameters in the TF after a course of traditional treatment were established. Positive results were obtained when studying the parameters of OCT-A, USODG, BDNF and VEGF while taking calcium Dobesylate and Semax preparations 0.1% higher than the initial values. An analysis of the results of the study showed the high effectiveness of the proposed method for preventing the occurrence and progression of diabeticretinopathy in people with type 2 diabetes.
