The premenopausal period represents a key biological phase characterized by the onset of hormonal transition in women. The progressive reduction in estrogen secretion during this stage can significantly affect the composition of the gut microbiota. In the present study involving 34 women, the feasibility of early identification of microbiota alterations in the premenopausal period has been demonstrated.
