Annotatsiya

Although the term metabolically associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) was only introduced into clinical practice relatively recently, in 2020, this nosological entity has rapidly become a central focus of scientific discussion and clinical observation among gastroenterologists worldwide. A prospective study was conducted involving 92 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of MAFLD, with the objective of evaluating the relationship between body composition parameters, morphological changes of the liver, and the degree of their severity. The findings obtained provide a more profound characterization of the metabolic and morphological features of the disease and contribute to the refinement of potential markers for disease progression.
