Annotatsiya

Metabolically associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a widespread chronic condition characterized by a high degree of fat accumulation in the liver due to metabolic dysfunction. Over the past 10 years, the rate of MAFLD diagnosis in most regions of the world has exceeded 20%, and it can be noted that this figure is dynamically increasing. The replacement of the term NAFLD with MAFLD has largely created convenience for both patients and specialists in the field. The non-use of the word 'alcohol' in the diagnosis has ensured a correct perception of the disease, without negatively impacting the mental state of patients, while the absence of contraindications for diagnosing viral, autoimmune hepatitis, and alcoholic hepatitis in MAFLD has contributed to a broad approach.
