Organic emotional lability (OEL) is a psychopathological condition characterized by instability of emotions, their rapid change and insufficient controllability, which often occurs after acute cerebrovascular accident (ONMC). This condition is associated with organic damage to brain structures, especially those that regulate emotional reactions. The purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is usually to gain a deep understanding of the mechanisms of formation of organic emotional lability (OEL) in patients with acute cerebral circulatory disorders (ONMC) in order to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of this condition. Materials and methods: Materials and methods: This study used neuropsychological tests, namely MMSE and Trail Making Test, in patients with acute cerebrovascular disorder of organic emotional lability. The study involved patients of the intensive neurology department of the multidisciplinary clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy. The study participants were 42 patients with acute ischemic stroke. Results: A study conducted among 42 patients with acute ischemic stroke revealed that 66.7% had moderate cognitive impairment (19-24 MMSE points), and 11.9% had severe (<19 points). The average time to complete the Trail Making Test (Part A) was 78.4 ± 12.6 seconds, and part B was 152.7 ± 24.3 seconds, while 42.9% of patients showed a significant decrease in executive functions. Emotional lability was noted in 71.4% of patients, and its severity was higher in people with severe cognitive impairment. A negative correlation was established between MMSE scores and the degree of emotional lability (r = -0.48, p < 0.01), which emphasizes the relationship between cognitive and emotional disorders. Conclusions: These data indicate the need for a comprehensive approach to the early detection and correction of cognitive and emotional disorders in stroke patients.
