Annotatsiya

This article explores the indirect and direct influence of the narrative poetics, aesthetic principles, and artistic experiments of the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar, one of the key figures of twentieth-century world literature, on the development of Uzbek prose. Using theoretical and comparative approaches, the study examines the reflection of Cortázar’s distinctive features—metaphysical thinking, the fusion of absurdity and reality, the relativization of time and space, psychological depth, and the poetics of play—in the works of selected Uzbek prose writers. Special attention is given to the reception and transformation of Cortázar’s aesthetic concepts within modernist and postmodernist tendencies in Uzbek prose. The findings highlight the role and significance of global literary experience in shaping national literature.
