Annotatsiya

This research provides a comprehensive analysis of the cognitive processes involved in solving riddles, with a primary focus on attention, memory, and associative thinking. By moving beyond traditional stylistic analysis, the study explores how riddles function as mental puzzles that require high-level conceptual synthesis. The research integrates the concepts of “Inference” and “Cognitive Scripts” to explain how the human brain resolves linguistic ambiguity. Drawing on the works of I.R. Galperin, Schank and Abelson, and Zubayda Husainova, the study demonstrates that riddles are essential tools for cognitive flexibility. The findings highlight that associative thinking serves as the primary mechanism for bridging the gap between misleading clues and the correct solution.
