This article examines the relationship between semantic coherence and pragmatic modulationin the translation of journalistic texts. The findings demonstrate that pragmatic adaptation plays a key role inachieving translation adequacy. Journalistic translation is interpreted as a discourse-based and function-orientedprocess.
