This article identifies the communicative value of paralinguistic means in interpersonal communication,examining their positive and negative functional aspects within the anthropocentric paradigmof modern linguistics. It also substantiates the necessity of introducing the term “paralinguistic insult” intoUzbek linguistics. At the analytical level, the paper elucidates the forms through which paralinguistic insultsare expressed in traditional oral and written colloquial discourse, addresses the problems of their semanticand cultural verbalization, classifies–on the basis of practical observations–the mechanisms underlying theemergence of paralinguistic insults through various deictic verbs, and demonstrates their significance in theprocesses of linguistic expertise.
