In this article, the role of rhyme and its poetic functions in the work of Hamid Olimjon, a majorrepresentative of Uzbek poetry of the 20th century, are studied on a scientific basis. The poet’s poetryexamines the importance of rhyme in the expression of musicality, imagery, emotional touch and nationalspirit. Through examples, the types of rhyme, their artistic and aesthetic function and the methods of skilledapplication of the poet are revealed.
