This article provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical analysis of presupposition inliterary texts. It traces the origin of the concept in philosophy, its adoption into linguistics, and its interpretationby scholars such as G. Frege, N.D. Arutyunova, V. Gak, A. Nurmonov, and Sh. Safarov. Using examples fromUzbek literature, the study demonstrates how presupposition helps to reveal implicit meanings, the innerworld of characters, and their social attitudes. The research also highlights the role of various grammaticalmeans in forming presuppositions and explores their relation to propositions and implicatures. Overall, thearticle substantiates the methodological significance of presupposition in the analysis of literary texts
