Annotatsiya

All doctors know that viral respiratory diseases can be manifested by ageusia (hypogeusia) and anosmia. (hyposmia) due to viral neurotropism, they usually appear along with other symptoms in the acute phase and in most cases have both good and short recovery. The early articles on the clinical manifestations of COVID-19 and the systematic reviews based on them did not report on impairment of smell and taste. Only one of the earliest reports from Wuhan province mentions that there are 5.1% and 5.6% of COVID-19 patients with smell and taste disorders, respectively [1]. After that, scientists conducted numerous studies and concluded that hypo / anosmia is a very common and indicative manifestation of COVID-19 and alertness to these symptoms will help to timely identify individuals who are involuntary carriers of the infection. Based on this, we strive to describe the prevalence and features of anosmia and dysgeusia in patients with COVID-19 in the Tashkent region, Uzbekistan.
