The article presents a review of scientific literature, clinical observations, containing data on the pathogenesis, features of neurological manifestations in children, complications from the nervous system in a new coronavirus infection. From the point of view of pathogenesis, neurological disorders in COVID-19 can be caused by a "cytokine storm", hypoxemia, homeostasis disorders (encephalopathy of critical conditions), neurotropy and neurovirulence of SARS-CoV-2, as well as the mixed effects of these factors. Recently, cases of viral hemorrhagic encephalitis, toxic encephalopathies, acute demyelinating lesions of the peripheral nervous system, acute disorders of cerebral circulation in children have been described. Undoubtedly, it is necessary to systematize the accumulated data on damage to the nervous system during the COVID-19 epidemic for their use in the practical work of a pediatric neurologist, further development of an optimal treatment strategy and implementation of effective preventive measures.
