The paper gives philosophic and methodological interpretation of the concept of art therapy, which is viewed as an innovative technology of socio-pedagogical work with children. Itdescribes interdis-ciplinary ideas of transformation of art therapy in the use of the artistic means and artistic communication aimed at optimization of subjective and objective conditions of socialization of children having different problems. The concept of “art therapy” is analyzed from the point of view of different spheres of its use; the key methodological problems and the ways for their solution during art therapy are outlined. A new philo-sophical and theoretical approach to art therapy is worked out to organize its empirical experience as a resource of preventive and remedial work using the means of art to help children to join he community.
