Аномалии зубочелюстной системы занимают одно из первых мест среди заболеваний челюстно-лицевого комплекса. Частота аномалий увеличивается с каждым годом жизни. Наиболее распространенной аномалией зубочелюстной системы является дистальная окклюзия зубных рядов (ДОЗР). 75% детей к 12 годам имеют ту или иную форму патологии прикуса, из них у 70% выявляется дистальная окклюзия зубных рядов. По данным Е.В. Удовицкой и соавт. (1983), функциональные и морфологические отклонения обнаружены у 75% 3-летних детей. По распространенности они превышают частоту кариеса и других стоматологических заболеваний в этом возрасте. По данным Т.Ф. Виноградовой и соавт. (1987), среди детей 3-х лет сформировавшиеся аномалии развития зубочелюстной системы выявлены у 48%. По данным Ф.Я. Хорошилкиной и соавт. (1978), зубочелюстные аномалии среди детского населения России встречаются в период временного прикуса у 24%; 71% детей дошкольного возраста с такими нарушениями проживают в сельской местности (Андрианова Ю.В. и др., 2004). Выявлено, что у детей с молочными зубами одно из первых мест по частоте встречаемости занимает дистальная окклюзия и глубокая резцовая дизокклюзия (до 42%)[1-10].
