Одним из факторов, определяющих развитие зубочелюстной системы, является действие мышц челюстно-лицевого комплекса, которое проявляется как во время жевания, глотания, дыхания и речи, так и в состоянии относительного физиологического покоя нижней челюсти. Сохранение миодинамического равновесия между мышцами-антагонистами и синергистами создает условия для нормального развития зубочелюстной системы. Нарушение же функции в результате изменения миодинамического равновесия мышц-антагонистов является мощным этиологическим фактором аномалий положения зубов и челюстей, приводящих к аномалиям прикуса [4,5], деформациям лицевого скелета и мышц шеи [1]. Миодинамический баланс может быть нарушен между круговой мышцей рта, подбородочной, мышцами дна полости рта, а также между жевательными и щечными мышцами [8].
