This article analyzes the reforms implemented in the preschool education system of Uzbekistan during the years of independence. It discusses the main directions of state policy aimed at expanding preschool coverage, introducing modern pedagogical methods, developing the private sector, and improving teacher qualifications. The content and essence of fundamental reforms implemented in the preschool education system within the framework of the First Step program and the Action Strategy for 5 priority areas of development of Uzbekistan were also scientifically studied.
