This article highlights the development of musical traditions in the Khorezm oasis since ancient times, the development of musical science in different periods, and the reflection of musical science in the works of Kamusi scientists. The article is also dedicated to the ancient and rich musical heritage of Khorezm, and it extensively covers the special place of this region in Uzbek folk music. It analyzes in detail the historical formation of the Khorezm maqom paths and folk song art, performance styles, instrumental composition, and specific features of the maqom structure. It is shown on the basis of sources that in works of a historical and literary nature, especially in treatises on music written in the 15th-17th centuries, a wealth of material has survived to earlier periods about the creation of maqom melodies and song forms and their creators. These sources are based on the fact that musical traditions in Central Asia have been revered and developed since ancient times, and that music science has developed.
