On sequential generation of the third harmonic in crystals with an inhomogeneous domain structure

Annotatsiya

The sequential generation of the 3-rd harmonic in quadratic nonlinear optical crystals with an inhomogeneous domain structure has been studied by a numerical method. The case is considered when the thicknesses of the domains of nonperiodic crystal take the values either d1 or d2, where d1 and d2 are equal to the coherent length of interactions 2ω=ω+ω and 3ω=2ω+ω, respectively. It is shown that the generation of the 3-rd harmonic can be effectively implemented for any values of the wavelength of the fundamental harmonic. To do this, an algorithm, based on the Monte Carlo method, is developed.
