Complex formation of some oxazine dyes in aqueous solutions of surfactants

Annotatsiya

The complex formation of Nile blue acetate (NSA) and oxazine 1 dyes with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and Triton X-100 (TX-100) has been studied by the steady state and picosecond resolved fluorescence spectroscopic techniques. It was found that in the premicеllar region of SDS, ion-pair are formed in solution between NSA and SDS molecules with subsequent transition to non-luminescent dimers. Based on quantum-chemical calculations and measurement of the excited state lifetime, it is shown that molecules of dyes interact with SDS and TX-100 both with the inner non polar part of the micelle through hydrophobic interactions and with the surface of the micelles due to electrostatic interaction. It has been found that solutions of the dye-surfactant complexes are more stable compared to aqueous solutions.
