An analysis of the literature has been conducted, allowing for the characterization of the main modern stages of development and establishment of the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder joint instability. The aim of this review is to highlight the main directions in the treatment of chronic shoulder joint instability and identify problematic issues that require further scientific investigation. The main results of observing patients who underwent various types of arthroscopic treatments are presented. The current level of diagnostics allows for precise determination of indications for surgical treatment. Identifying all possible links in the pathogenesis and individualized preoperative planning are key tasks for preventing recurrence of instability.
