The paper presents a comprehensive approach to assessing the radiological signs of the severity of RDS in pneumonia in newborns in comparison with biochemical parameters. Variants of radiological verification of pulmonary changes were identified, depending on the severity and extent of clinical signs observed in the inflammatory process developing against the background of lung tissue immaturity. The presence of a relationship between biochemical shifts, in particular α-FP, α1-AT and α2-MG with the degree of immaturity of the newborn in pneumonia in combination with signs of RDS is studied. Biochemical signs of immaturity reflect a predisposition to inflammatory changes in the lungs, which, against the background of a violation of the dynamic balance of proteolytic systems, creates a risk of developing a chronic process.
