The article analyzes the concept of legally significant digital traces in electronic criminal case management, their role within the system of procedural safeguards, and their importance for the digitalization of prosecutorial supervision. A digital trace is substantiated as a verifiable information layer that records the author, time, legal basis, electronic signature, modification history, data access, and supervisory actions for each procedural act. The article proposes improvements concerning electronic criminal case files, electronic registration, the chain of custody of digital evidence, the recording of artificial intelligence use, and the protection of the rights of participants in proceedings.
