The rapid development of internet networks has led to the emergence of new discipline in linguistics, media linguistics which focuses on special functionality in of language signs in modern media. Social media platforms have become integral to modern communication and they present a particularly rich and complex field of study for media linguistics. This article explores ideas about media linguistics, lexical-semantic and functional media communication in current English and Uzbek languages. The message on the Internet, particularly, on social media can be delivered to its addressers as its targeted way with the help of phonographic, lexic and graphic tools in communication. The author critically analyzed the viewpoints of Uzbek and English linguists and presented her own. Students studying the lexicology of Uzbekistan and English might find this page useful.
