The article discusses transformations in the translation of Uzbek folk tales into Russian. Grammatical transformations are caused by typological contrasts in the grammatical systems of the Uzbek and Russian languages. When comparing certain linguistic pictures of the world, different interpretations of the same phenomenon or concept are revealed, i.e. in the lexical systems of the source and target languages, discrepancies in the semantic structure of the word are observed. In translation theory, such deviations are defined as lexical transformations.
