This article analyzes the semantic field of temporality in a narrative text from a theoretical and practical point of view. The influence of temporal means that activate a narrative text on the specific semantics of predicates in the text is investigated. Also, this article is devoted to the analysis of a wide range of functions of the licensing tools that serve to create text semantics. The theoretical basis of this article was the theories of foreign and local linguists dedicated to the narrative text, and the practical side was the analysis of examples collected from literary texts.
