This article examines the scientific and practical significance of control tests in determining the level of physical fitness of young rhythmic gymnasts training in sports and health groups. The study uses pedagogical testing methods aimed at assessing the main physical qualities of 5–10-year-old gymnasts, including speed, agility, coordination, balance, and flexibility. The control tests included a 30-meter sprint, a 3x10-meter shuttle run, one-leg balance test, and forward bending without bending the knees. The results showed that control tests make it possible to determine the dynamics of physical development in young gymnasts, identify their strengths and weaknesses, individualize the training process, and plan physical loads more effectively. The findings may be used to improve the effectiveness of rhythmic gymnastics training in sports and health groups, enhance the system of control testing, and organize the gradual training of young athletes on a scientific basis.
