The article deals with topical issues of determining the legal status of sports judges under the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Attention is paid to the most controversial issues of regulation of the rights and duties of sports referees by the norms of law. Based on the analysis of the norms of current legislation and doctrinal sources, the conclusion is made about the belonging of the legal status of judges in sports, as well as suggestions for improving the legal regulation of judges’ activities.
