This article examines the formation of the legal framework related to physical culture and sports in the early stages of the development of ancient civilizations, highlighting many of the legal principles put forward during that period and which have not lost their relevance and significance to this day. The article also discusses the formation of sports law as a separate independent branch of law and issues of legal definition of the concept of sports law.
