The article analyzes the age structure of professional groups of miners. The data obtained indicate a certain influence of working conditions on the age structure of professions in the mining industry. The functional capabilities of miners were studied depending on their work experience. The compensation opportunities for miners of various specializations are examined and discussed in detail. In particular, it was found that the physical performance and workload of basic operators directly depend on the efficiency of combined machines in coal mining.
