Ushbu maqolada noan’anaviy sabzavot ekinlarini sho‘r tuproqlarga joriy etishning agronomik, ekologik va iqtisodiy ahamiyati o‘rganiladi. Tuproq sho‘rligi butun dunyo bo‘ylab sug‘oriladigan yerlarning taxminan 20-30% ga ta’sir qiluvchi asosiy to‘siq bo‘lib, ayniqsa Markaziy Osiyoda yuqori tarqalgan. Tadqiqotda tuzga chidamli sabzavot turlarini, ularning fiziologik moslashuvchanligini va sho‘r sharoitlarda unumdorligini baholash uchun mavjud ilmiy topilmalar va mintaqaviy ma’lumotlar umumlashtiriladi.
