Sixteen melon genotypes (Cucumis melo L.) were evaluated under osmotic stress induced by «PEG-6000» during germination. Stress significantly reduced seed germination, root and seedling growth, and vigor index. Genotypes «L-142», « Ko‘k mag‘iz », and some hybrids F1 showed higher stability. Based on SVI and STI, tolerant genotypes were identified. Results support breeding for drought tolerance.
