This article presents a comparative analysis of verbs used in two ancient manuscripts created during the Mamluk period of the 14th century – “Tarjumon Turkiy” and “Bulghat al-Mushtaq.” The study mainly focuses on the morphological and structural comparison of verbs in the imperative mood. It comprehensively examines the formation of verb forms, the means of constructing the imperative mood, and the grammatical meanings expressed through them. It was determined that in “Tarjumon Turkiy” the imperative mood is used as a main form in verb conjugation, whereas in “Bulghat al-Mushtaq” these forms are not provided as separate explanations but are given alongside each verb entry. The article also reveals, based on reliable sources, the principles of verb arrangement in the dictionaries, the alphabetic ordering system based on the Arabic script, and the interaction between Turkic and Arabic grammatical structures.
