This article examines the communicative and pragmatic aspects of the concept of "mind" based on proverbs in English, German, Russian, and Uzbek. 15 proverbs, selected from each language, were analyzed based on semantic-cognitive, comparative, and pragmalinguistic methods. According to the results obtained, the concept of "mind" in English and German proverbs is reflected in connection with personal intellectual growth, knowledge, and experience. In the Russian language, this concept manifests itself more in social contacts and counseling. In Uzbek proverbs, "mind" is expressed in close connection with morality, upbringing, and family values. In English and Uzbek proverbs, the concept of "mind" is associated with the intellectual values, life experience, and culture of the people and has several similarities, including the reflection of wisdom and experience: In both languages, the concept of "mind" is used to express wisdom, experience, and life knowledge.For example, the English proverb "Wisdom is better than strength" corresponds to the Uzbek proverb "Aql kuchdan ustun." The research findings play an important role in understanding language and intercultural differences, choosing appropriate equivalents in the translation process, and developing linguocultural competence.
