This article analyzes the meaning characteristics of some ethnonyms in the Nurota district, the history of the origin of ethnonyms, etymological foundations and their influence on territorial, cultural and ethnic characteristics. Also, through the meaning and content of ethnonyms, the historical and cultural heritage of the indigenous people, territorial identification and their importance in the modern context are explored. This study helps to better understand the ethnic diversity and historical development of Nurota district.
