This study examines the phonetic, orthographic, and grammatical features of abbreviations commonly used in military terminology. As a highly specialized field, military language often relies on abbreviations to ensure quick and efficient communication, especially in high-pressure situations where clarity and speed are crucial. The article explores how military abbreviations are constructed, how they function in both spoken and written discourse, and how they are influenced by linguistic economy and operational necessity. The phonetic analysis distinguishes between acronyms and initialisms, paying special attention to their articulation and prosodic patterns. From an orthographic perspective, the study examines the use of capital letters, punctuation, blending, and alphanumeric elements. Grammatically, it highlights how abbreviations behave within sentence structures, including pluralization, verb formation, and syntactic agreement. The study also addresses the functional and cognitive aspects of abbreviation use in military contexts, demonstrating how these compact forms enhance memory retention and operational clarity. By examining these features in detail, the article contributes to a deeper understanding of how language adapts to institutional needs and the requirements of specialized communication, offering insights useful to linguists, translators, military personnel, and language instructors.
