The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically transformed global communication by introducing an unprecedented new terms and redefining existing vocabulary to reflect the changing realities of life. This article explores the pandemic’s influence on the English-language lexicon, focusing on the emergence of neologisms, semantic shifts, and culturally embedded expressions. Employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods, the study analyzes linguistic trends sourced from digital media, online social networks, and language corpora. Key terms like “covidiot,” “lockdown,” and “social distancing” are examined not only for their descriptive functions but also for their socio-emotional and ideological implications. They encapsulate public sentiment, reflect shifts in behavior, and symbolize cultural adaptation during the global crisis.
