The expressiveness of a language is closely related to its vocabulary, especially phraseological units. Phraseological units play an important role in every language, reflecting the culture, traditions and worldview of the people. Phraseological units play a particularly important role in the process of learning a foreign language, and their effective learning is essential for developing the ability to communicate freely in a foreign language. In French, phraseological units are word combinations consisting of two or more words that express a strong meaning. They constitute the richness and uniqueness of the language as phraseological units or expressions. The article discusses the semantic and structural types of phraseological units of the French language, their linguistic features, as well as various situations that arise when translating them into Uzbek.
