The term reality in linguistics expresses the interaction between language and culture. Reality refers mainly to objects, phenomena or social processes that are characteristic of a particular culture and cause difficulties in translating into other languages. This shows the expression of cultural phenomena through language, the influence of language and culture on each other. A.V. Fedorov and O.S. Akhmanova defined realities as linguistic units that reflect the characteristics of national culture. The translation of realities poses various problems, since they can be characteristic of only one culture, and when translated into other languages, connotations or cultural significance may be lost. There are two main approaches to translating realities: the first is to translate the reality in full, the second is to preserve its main content. Some realities require cross-cultural adaptation in the translation process. Realities that are translated into other languages are often transformed using transliteration, calque, interpretive translation, analogical translation, or cultural adaptation.
