This article investigates the system of synonyms in the French and Uzbek languages. Synonyms, that is, words with similar or identical meanings, play an important role in expanding the lexical richness of a language and making communication more precise and diverse. The article examines the semantic and stylistic aspects of synonyms, their use depending on context, as well as the similarities and differences between the two languages. The system of synonyms in both French and Uzbek languages has its own characteristics, with each language standing out due to its semantic and stylistic differences. The article also analyzes the approaches of linguists and the methodological aspects of synonym research. This study helps to identify lexical similarities and differences between the two languages and serves as a foundation for future research in the field of linguistics.
