This article presents a historical-comparative analysis of the evolution of lexical items related to perception (visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, and tactile) in English and Uzbek. The research is based on data from historical texts, etymological dictionaries, and corpus materials. The findings indicate that despite differences in origin and cultural traditions, both languages have undergone similar processes of semantic change, metaphorization, and borrowing. The conclusions shed light on common and specific mechanisms of linguistic evolution.
